English Eggbutt Snaffle Bit

Available in all Sizes from 3.5" to 6"

The Eggbutt snaffle is a popular choice of bit. It is a 'fixed cheek' bit, meaning there won't be much movement in the horse's mouth. This should encourage your horse to accept and stretch into the bit.

This bit is not suitable for horses that are prone to leaning on the bit or 'taking hold of the bit'.

The single joint action of this bit acts like a nutcracker, putting pressure on both sides of the tongue and lips, certain breeds of horse with large tongues do not 'get on' with this bit, purely for the reason that they have less room in their mouth for a single jointed bit, less room/large tongue may cause this bit to touch the roof of their mouth, understandably giving you a sensitive horse!
