EQUINE AMERICA CUSH-TREAT CRUMBLES 908G

These palatable crumbles are an all natural product formulated to help in the fight against this often undiagnosed, hormonal condition by using Chaste Berry - an ingredient already used by Equine America in their No More Moods liquid and fortified with Lamitreat as Cushings often develops into Laminitis.

Cushing’s disease is one of the most common hormonal disorders in horses and is caused by either a tumor or increased production of cells in the pituitary gland.

It is now thought that thousands of horses and ponies have the condition to some degree, even if they don't show the most obvious signs.  Ponies seem to be at the greatest risk but it is most commonly found in aging horses. If not managed properly, horses who already suffer from the disorder may only have a life expectancy of 5-7 years.  It is also possible that if the tumor increases significantly in size the horse could become blind.

Cushing’s syndrome is a hormone disorder created by an over-active pituitary gland, which causes high levels of cortisol in the blood. The pituitary gland is located at the base of the brain and is responsible for regulating hormones which in turn control body functions.  With Cushing’s syndrome the pituitary, along with the adrenal gland, never switches off.

Excessive hormones from the pituitary cause the adrenal gland to overproduce cortisol which creates a number of other health issues.  It has a negative impact on all the normal functions it performs including regulating insulin levels, muscle, nerves and connective tissues, supporting the immune system, breaking down carbohydrates and maintaining normal blood pressure.

Also, when the body is under stress, cortisol is used to attack inflammation.

It can take many years for the symptom of Cushing’s to become evident or recognized.  As the symptoms accumulate the animal starts to show an unhealthy appearance.  For this reason early diagnosis and treatment are extremely important.  In the advanced stages, the pituitary gland swells applying pressure to the brain which can cause neurological problems.  Once this stage is reached, it is very difficult to overcome.

Symptoms can include:

• Poor or wavy coat, lack of shedding

• Excessive sweating

• Fatty deposits on the neck, shoulders, rump and sheath

• Different stages of laminitis

• Excessive urination or thirst

• Swollen belly

• Loss of form or muscle

• Fluid collection around the eye

• The animal may become lethargic

• Sterility

• Abscesses/Ulcers and skin infections

• Respiratory disease

• Lowered immune system

• Neurological symptoms

• Eye Tumors or even blindness.

It is widely believed that Cushing’s is more common in Arabians, Morgans, Warm bloods and some pony breeds, and also that Show horses are definitely at a higher risk of developing the disease. However, many Leisure horses are now also being diagnosed.

Equine stress caused by high sugar/carbohydrate diets, vaccinating, medicating along with excessive training and stall confinement are all considered to be contributory to the early stages of Cushing’s.  Some Vets have now offered to provide free blood tests to help diagnose the disease. However, it’s possible these may be prone to giving inaccurate results due to the wide range of ‘normal’ hormone levels in horses.

TREATING CUSHING’S DISEASE NATURALLY!!!

Equine America have produced a brand new product based on the amazing results experienced with No More Moods whose main active ingredient is liquid Chaste Berry. This is recommended for women who are going through the menopause, or experience PMS symptoms as it provides excellent results.

Chaste Berry nutritionally supports the normal functioning of the pituitary gland. With this herbal supplement, the pituitary is allowed to thrive and perform properly by naturally helping to maintain normal dopamine levels in the blood and supporting regulation of both the pituitary and adrenal glands which in turn balance the body’s hormone levels.  Chaste Berry has no known negative side effects and is safe for long term use.

We believe we have produced the best product available on the market today to treat Cushing’s (PPID) in a natural and safe way without the long-term use of any drugs.

Available in a 908g tub which provides 2 months supply at maintenance
